We love the versatility of this piece – somewhere between a functional bowl and a sculptural object.
Its broad, shallow proportions make a beautiful centrepiece in their own right, but we particularly love it used for flowers. With a simple flower frog and a handful of seasonal stems, it becomes a wonderfully understated vessel for loose, architectural arrangements, inspired by the Japanese principles of Ikebana.

Wheel-thrown by hand in Bex’s Brighton studio using coloured stoneware clay.
The colour is mixed directly into the clay rather than applied simply as a surface glaze, allowing the exterior to remain beautifully tactile and matt. A transparent gloss glaze finishes the interior, creating a subtle contrast and making the bowl watertight.
Each piece is individually handmade, so variations in form, dimensions and colour are part of its character.
Care: Hand washing recommended. Flower frog not included.
