Why talk to us?
fōrm&blōm is an independent design showroom and gallery in Oakham, Rutland. We believe that considered furniture deserves to be experienced properly — sat on, touched, understood and discussed — rather than simply reduced to an image and a price on a screen.
We invest in displaying the furniture we represent so that you can experience its proportions, comfort, materials and craftsmanship in person. And because we know the pieces and the people who make them, we can help with the details that aren’t always obvious online: timber and finish choices, upholstery, fabrics, cushion construction, dimensions, suitability for a particular room and, where available, bespoke options.
Our background in architecture and design also means that our advice doesn’t necessarily stop at the piece itself. If you are unsure about scale, placement, materials or how something will work within your home, talk to us.
Why don’t we simply discount everything?
We choose to compete on service, knowledge and the quality of the experience we offer rather than by permanently discounting the furniture we represent.
As a small independent retailer, maintaining a physical showroom and investing in display furniture allows our customers to experience pieces before committing to them — particularly important when choosing a sofa, armchair or dining table intended to be lived with for many years.
Permanent blanket discounting would make that increasingly difficult to sustain.
We also understand, however, that furniture is a significant purchase and that it is entirely reasonable to compare prices before making a decision.
From time to time, another authorised retailer may be running a promotion or you may find the same piece advertised elsewhere for less.
If that happens, please come back to us before placing your order.
We can’t guarantee that we will match every offer. Different promotions, specifications and circumstances vary. But we’ll look at it fairly and, wherever we reasonably can, we’ll find a way to make buying through fōrm&blōm work for you.
Sometimes that may be through price. In other circumstances it might be through delivery, specification advice or another part of the service we can offer.
The important thing is simply to have the conversation before you buy elsewhere.
Buying furniture should be personal
The furniture in our collection has been selected because we believe in its design, materials, craftsmanship and longevity. Much of it is made in Britain by makers and manufacturers with whom we have direct relationships.
We want you to buy the right piece, in the right size, material and finish — and to still be pleased that you chose it many years from now.
If you’ve visited our showroom and spent time trying a piece with us, we’d particularly encourage you to come back and speak to us if you subsequently find it advertised for less elsewhere. The ability for independent showrooms like ours to continue displaying exceptional furniture depends upon customers ultimately choosing to support the businesses providing that experience, knowledge and service.
And we’ll always do our best to make that choice possible.
