Bedside Table TWO is a compact solid ash bedside table combining the clean, functional character of Another Country's Series TWO with beautifully considered furniture-making details.

A single dovetailed drawer provides useful concealed storage, running on traditional wooden runners, while slender legs keep the piece visually light. Brushed brass hardware and feet introduce a subtle warmth against the pale, white-oiled ash, and a small raised detail at the back of the tabletop reinterprets a practical feature found in traditional furniture. 

Originally designed by Another Country for Heal's, the wider bedroom collection takes inspiration from the functional forms, clean lines and enduring craftsmanship of Shaker furniture.

  • Tallboy TWO solves a very practical problem beautifully: how to provide genuinely useful storage without allowing a large chest of drawers to dominate the room.

    At only 500mm wide, its tall, slender proportions make particularly efficient use of floor space. Yet there is nothing utilitarian about the way it has been resolved. Five dovetailed drawers, traditional wooden runners, pale ash and the smallest touch of brushed brass turn a straightforward storage piece into something worth looking at closely.

    We also like the fact that its character comes almost entirely from proportion, material and construction. It is quiet furniture in the best sense — designed to work hard within a room without demanding to be its centre of attention.

    Originally designed as part of Another Country's first bedroom collection for Heal's, the series draws on Shaker furniture and its emphasis on functional forms, clean lines and enduring craftsmanship. 

    Five drawers provide generous storage within a footprint only 500mm wide. Each drawer runs on traditional wooden runners and incorporates dovetail joints, allowing established cabinet-making techniques to remain part of the experience of the furniture. 

    A small upright at the back of the top reinterprets a detail found in traditional furniture, while the restrained brass escutcheon and key provide both a practical function and a subtle material contrast against the pale ash.

  • Solid Ash / White Oil & Wax

    Tallboy TWO is made from solid certified ash and finished with white oil and wax, preserving the naturally pale appearance of the timber while allowing its grain and texture to remain visible. 

    Brushed Brass

    Brass is used sparingly at the lock and key, introducing a warm metallic detail without disturbing the simplicity of the piece.

    Traditional drawer construction

    All five drawers incorporate dovetail joints and run on traditional wooden runners rather than contemporary metal mechanisms. 

    Timber is a natural material and variations in grain, colour and character should be expected and celebrated as part of each piece.

    Tallboy TWO was originally developed as part of Another Country's bedroom collection for Heal's, inspired by the functional forms, clean lines and enduring craftsmanship of Shaker furniture.

    Its tall, narrow form is deliberately efficient, providing five drawers of storage while occupying relatively little floor area. Solid ash finished with white oil and wax gives the cabinet its light appearance and tactile character.

    Traditional furniture-making is expressed rather than concealed. The drawers use dovetail joints and wooden runners, while the small raised edge at the top takes a familiar historic furniture detail and gives it a contemporary expression.

    The restrained brass escutcheon and key provide the only deliberately decorative moment. This combination of practical function, established craft and carefully controlled material detail is characteristic of the wider Series TWO.

    Made in Portugal, Tallboy TWO is designed as substantial everyday furniture whose solid timber construction and maintainable finish allow it to develop naturally through years of use.
