  • There is a pleasing familiarity to Desk ONE. Its proportions and straightforward construction recall the archetypal school desk, but everything has been refined enough for it to feel entirely at home in a contemporary interior.

    We particularly like that its practical details are integrated without disturbing the simplicity of the design. The drawer, cable management and shallow pen groove are genuinely useful, yet none becomes a visual feature for its own sake.

    Its relatively compact footprint is another reason we chose it. Desk ONE creates a proper place to work without requiring a room to become an office — equally convincing in a study, bedroom or a quiet corner of a living space.

  • Desk ONE forms part of Another Country’s original Series ONE collection and translates the collection’s simple, craft-led approach particularly well to the contemporary home workspace.

    Inspired by the familiar form of the traditional school desk, its broad solid timber work surface incorporates a single drawer beneath, a shallow groove for pens and pencils and discreet cable management for the less romantic necessities of modern working.

The emphasis remains on durable materials, useful proportions and construction that allows the natural character of the timber to remain central to the design.
