Hardy Console has a character quite different from a conventional console table. Its softly curved legs and beautifully judged proportions give it presence without making it visually heavy, while its compact footprint allows it to work in places where a larger piece simply would not.
We particularly like the optional drawer. It turns an elegant occasional surface into genuinely useful furniture — somewhere to quietly contain keys and everyday objects in a hallway, or personal belongings when used in a bedroom.
More broadly, it captures what appeals to us about the Hardy Collection: furniture that acknowledges traditional craft and familiar forms without becoming nostalgic. It feels warm, tactile and enduring, yet entirely contemporary.

Designed by David Irwin for Another Country, Hardy Console shares the distinctive design language first established by the award-winning Hardy Chair.
The original chair drew inspiration from two nineteenth-century furniture types — the Captain’s chair and the Smokers bow, a form of low-backed Windsor chair. The gentle curves that emerged from those references have subsequently developed into a recognisable language across the wider Hardy Collection, including this console.
At 888mm wide and only 350mm deep, the console is particularly useful where space is limited. Choose it with a drawer for discreet storage or without for an even simpler expression.
For a longer 1200mm alternative with the more architectural language of Series ONE, explore Console ONE.

Timber is a natural material and variations in grain, colour and character should be expected and celebrated as part of each piece.

Designer: David Irwin
Maker: Another Country
Collection: Hardy Collection
Made in: UKHardy Console was designed by British designer David Irwin as part of the wider Hardy family, a collection rooted in Another Country’s Dorset heritage and an exploration of traditional British furniture typologies.
Its softly curved solid timber components continue the visual language established by the Hardy Chair, whose design drew on the Captain’s chair and Smokers bow. Traditional references are distilled rather than reproduced, creating furniture that retains the warmth and familiarity of craft-made objects while remaining distinctly contemporary.
The collection combines time-honoured craft techniques with modern manufacturing and places particular emphasis on quality and longevity — the idea that well-made furniture should remain useful enough to be passed from one generation to another.
