OTIS Shelving embodies many of the qualities we value at fōrm&blōm: clarity of construction, honest use of materials and an adaptability that allows a piece of furniture to remain useful as spaces and needs change.
We particularly like the way the structure itself becomes the detail. Projecting shelves, exposed uprights and softly rounded junctions give OTIS an architectural quality without making it visually heavy.
Equally at home against a wall or used to subtly divide an open-plan space, it provides structure without enclosure — a quietly considered piece of British design with real versatility.

OTIS Shelving combines solid oak and oak-veneered plywood, using the natural warmth and character of timber within a light, precise construction.
Available in three finishes:
Oak — a natural finish celebrating the colour and grain of the timber.
Smoked Oak — a deeper, warmer expression of oak.
Black — a dark finish that gives the open structure a stronger, more graphic presence.
Timber is a natural material and variations in grain, colour and character should be expected. These differences are part of the individual character of each piece.

Designed by John Green for honest, OTIS takes its name from Off The Industry Shelf — an approach based around the intelligent use of standard-sized components and tooling to create furniture with clarity, economy and longevity.
OTIS Shelving develops this language into an open architectural framework. The timber uprights remain clearly expressed alongside the horizontal shelves, while projecting ends and rounded details give the construction its distinctive character.
The open structure also gives the shelving an unusual degree of versatility. It can sit conventionally against a wall as a bookcase or display piece, or remain visible from both sides and help organise larger and open-plan spaces as a room divider.
-
OTIS Shelving is offered as standard in a choice of three widths, three heights and three finishes, providing considerable flexibility in scale and appearance.
We also work with clients on bespoke requirements.

Care
Dust regularly using a clean, soft, dry cloth. For more thorough cleaning, use a lightly dampened cloth and dry the surface afterwards. Avoid abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals and excessive moisture.
As with all natural timber furniture, prolonged exposure to strong direct sunlight can gradually alter the colour of the wood. Moving objects placed on the shelves periodically can help the timber age more evenly.
Assembly
OTIS Shelving is supplied flat packed and requires assembly. Please follow the assembly instructions supplied with your furniture.
Warranty
