Terrazzo has the kind of quiet complexity we look for at fōrm&blōm. From a distance its surface feels calm and understated; up close, the variation in yarn, colour and texture reveals the craftsmanship within the weave.

We particularly like the way its mineral-inspired palette works with natural materials – timber, stone, plaster and linen – making it easy to place within an interior without becoming visually dominant. It is a rug that adds warmth, texture and depth while allowing the furniture and architecture around it to breathe.

Like all Kasthall rugs in our collection, Terrazzo is chosen not simply as a decorative surface but as a considered part of the room.

Terrazzo is a woven bouclé rug designed by Kasthall Design Studio and produced at Kasthall's mill in Kinna, Sweden.

The rug is produced using a three-step shuttle process, combining different yarn structures to create its characteristically tactile, subtly rugged surface.

Terrazzo is available in a range of standard sizes as well as being made to measure for individual rooms and projects.

Standard sizes: 90 × 240 · 140 × 200 · 170 × 240 · 200 × 300 · 250 × 350 · 300 × 400 · 350 × 450 cm.

Custom sizes: widths from 70–600 cm and lengths from 60–1,000 cm.

As each rug is made using natural materials and craft-based manufacturing processes, finished dimensions may vary by up to ±5%. If a particular maximum or minimum finished dimension is critical to your space, please let us know when ordering.

Terrazzo is also suitable for wall-to-wall applications. Contact us to discuss bespoke sizing, samples or specification for a particular room or project.

Terrazzo is available in nine mineral-inspired colourways:

The natural wool and linen yarns give each colour depth and subtle tonal variation. Samples are available if you would like to see a colour alongside your flooring, furniture or other finishes before ordering.

For woven rugs wider than 200 cm or larger than 6 m², Kasthall recommends adding backing. This treatment is applied to the underside of the rug to improve stability and help extend its life.

A separate rug underlay can also help keep the rug securely in position, protect the floor beneath and reduce movement and wear.

Designed by Kasthall Design Studio, Terrazzo was introduced in 2019 and takes its inspiration from the irregular colours and surfaces found in rocks and gemstones.

Each rug is woven to order at Kasthall's mill in Kinna, Sweden, where the company has been producing rugs since 1889. Terrazzo's three-step shuttle construction brings together wool, linen and bouclé yarn to create a surface that feels deliberately irregular rather than uniform – combining Swedish textile craft with a distinctly contemporary character.

Regular vacuuming is the best way to remove everyday dirt and help preserve the appearance and structure of your rug. Spills and stains should be dealt with promptly and appropriate professional cleaning used when deeper cleaning is required.

As Terrazzo is made from natural fibres, small variations in colour, texture and dimensions are part of the character of the material and may occur between yarn batches.

Kasthall provides a 10-year residential warranty for its woven and tufted rugs.
