The Dramatic One is about depth, contrast and movement. Deep, saturated flowers create a rich tonal core, while vivid greens cut through the darker palette and bring freshness to the composition.
Drawing on our architectural background, we work with height, projection, density and negative space, allowing individual stems to occupy their own space rather than forming a conventional uniform bouquet.
The exact flowers will change throughout the year. Rather than prescribing individual varieties, we select the best stems available to achieve the rich palette, unusual texture and expressive character of the composition.
Your bouquet will therefore be recognisably The Dramatic One, but it will also be uniquely yours.

The Dramatic One explores contrast, depth and movement.
Deep, saturated flowers create a rich and almost tonal core, while vivid greens cut through the darker palette and prevent the composition from becoming heavy. Cascading, textural stems soften its edges, while individual flowers rise above the main body of the bouquet to establish height and rhythm.
Our architectural background influences the way we compose: rather than creating a uniform dome of flowers, we allow individual stems to occupy their own space. Height, projection, density and negative space all become part of the composition.
The result is deliberately expressive — a bouquet with a strong presence that changes as you move around it and as its flowers open and develop.

For The Dramatic One, we look particularly for flowers and foliage with depth of colour, strong individual forms and unusual texture — allowing the particular varieties to change naturally with the season.
We design to a palette and composition rather than a fixed flower recipe.
Flowers are seasonal materials, and we believe this should be celebrated rather than designed out. The varieties used in your bouquet will therefore change according to the time of year, growing conditions, quality and availability.
We favour seasonal and British-grown flowers and foliage wherever possible, choosing stems for their quality, character and suitability for the composition. British flowers can naturally be less uniform and more variable than flowers produced for large-scale international supply; for us, their movement, irregularity and connection to a particular place and moment are part of their appeal.
Where the right British-grown stem is not available, we supplement thoughtfully with imported flowers rather than compromising the overall composition.
For us, conscious floristry begins with being open about where our flowers come from and choosing thoughtfully according to season, quality and availability.
As a result, your bouquet will not be an exact reproduction of the photograph. We will instead preserve its overall colour palette, character, texture, balance and value, creating an individual composition from what is naturally at its best.

Every fōrm&blōm bouquet is individually designed, composed and hand-tied in our Oakham studio in Rutland.
Our floristry sits naturally alongside the furniture, objects and interiors we curate: all are concerned with material, craftsmanship, proportion and the way things occupy space.
We don't work from a production-line recipe. Each bouquet is assembled by eye and by hand, responding to the particular stems in front of us — their shape, movement, colour and texture.
No two will be precisely alike. We think that's part of their beauty.

Flowers are living, changing things. A little care will help you enjoy them for longer.
On arrival, carefully remove the wrapping and trim approximately 2–3 cm from the bottom of each stem at an angle before placing the flowers into a clean vase filled with fresh water.
Keep your flowers somewhere cool, away from direct sunlight, radiators, draughts and ripening fruit. Change the water regularly, keeping the vase clean, and remove individual flowers or foliage as they naturally fade.
Some flowers may arrive relatively closed or in bud. Allow them a little time — part of the pleasure is watching the composition change as individual flowers open and develop.

Each bouquet is individually prepared and hand-tied in our Oakham studio before being carefully packaged for its journey.
