Series TWO develops the principles established by Another Country’s first collection through a cleaner, more architectural language. The same emphasis on useful, enduring furniture and honest materials remains, but here the forms become more angular and the material palette more contrasting.
Influences from Japanese and Scandinavian furniture sit alongside the pale timber and restrained character of contemporary Belgian craft. Ash and walnut feature prominently throughout the collection, often brought together to allow the contrast between the two timbers to become part of the design. Brass appears as a carefully judged accent, used not simply as decoration but as a functional element within the furniture.
What we particularly value about Series TWO is the way these materials are allowed to do much of the work. Details are precise rather than elaborate; construction is considered but rarely showy. The result is furniture with a quiet richness that reveals itself gradually through proportion, texture and use.
There is also an intelligence to the way many of the pieces are made. Another Country developed a construction method that allows much of the collection to be flat-packed, making substantial solid wood furniture more efficient to transport without compromising its quality or longevity.
The collection extends across the home, from beds, bedside tables and chests of drawers to desks, dining tables, benches, sideboards and occasional furniture. Pieces can stand independently, but the recurring use of pale ash, richer walnut and restrained brass detailing gives Series TWO a distinctive family character.

Originally inspired by beds made for the famed River Cottage Farmhouse in Devon, Cottage Bed is a study in simplicity. A substantial solid timber frame is paired with a tall, distinctive headboard, creating a bed with real presence while retaining the straightforward construction and material honesty characteristic of Another Country.
Available in four UK sizes, from Single to Super King, Cottage Bed can be specified in natural oak or lacquered colour. The latter recalls the yellow and blue beds originally created for River Cottage and gives the deliberately simple form an entirely different character.
